Few things are better coming out of a Dutch oven than a yummy dessert. My daughter introduced this one to me and it turned out really, really good. I don’t know of a dessert that is more simple, just four ingredients, yet so very good. Beware – it is not fancy; it is just good, simple and good.
Easy Blueberry Dump
1 French Vanilla cake mix
8 T Butter, chilled
3 C Blueberries, fresh or frozen
1/2 C Milk
Prepare a 12″ Dutch oven, sprayed with non-stick spray. You can use a 10″ oven if you want a thinker cake. Put the cake mix in a large bowl. Grate the butter into the cake mix (I froze my butter first) and gently mix with your hands. Add the blueberries and mix, if using frozen berries do not thaw.
Pour the cake into the Dutch oven and smooth out. Pour the milk over the top. Back at 350 using 8 coals on the bottom and 16 coals on top. Bake for 35 – 40 minutes. The cake will still be really gooey when it is warm. Serve with ice cream or whip cream. You are going to like this!
