My wife was looking around on Pinterest last week and stumbled across this recipe for Dutch Oven Breakfast Pizza. She promptly sent it to me and said, “this is what we’re having Saturday morning for breakfast.” In truth, I should have made two! Eggs, hash browns, and biscuits are breakfast staples. Shake it up with this delicious and simple breakfast pizza.
1 can crescent rolls
2 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 lb. bulk sausage
4 eggs
3 Tbs. milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ground black pepper
1 cup thawed hash browns
Chopped onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms to taste
Brown the sausage on your camp stove, drain and set aside.
Combine eggs, milk, salt, and pepper in a bowl and whisk until smooth. Set aside.
Spray the bottom of a 12″ dutch oven with cooking spray or use the sausage grease, then line the bottom of a 12″ dutch oven with unrolled crescent rolls. Putting the pieces down is like putting a puzzle together.
Layer the sausage.
Layer the veggies.
Layer the hash browns.
Layer about 1 1/2 cups of cheddar cheese.
Pour the egg mixture evenly over the top of the pizza.
Sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
Cook at 350 for approx. 30 minutes (verify that your eggs are done before serving).
