When you’re just getting started in the outdoor cooking life, you may feel intimidated by certain things. It happens to me all the time. In fact, it happened last night. My family, including my kids (ages 9, 6, & 4) like salmon. We season it with lemon pepper and butter, or with a brown sugar glaze that is amazing. But there’s one problem with salmon and fish in general: it stinks up your house.
Last night, my wife surprised me with a nice salmon filet from our local grocer. She surprised me even more when she said, “you’re going to grill this because I don’t want to stink up the house.” I’d never grilled salmon before! But 10 seconds after my initial panic, I remembered our motto here at Three Guys Outside – anything you can cook inside, we can cook outside! My brain went through a quick recipe review: bake salmon at 350 for 20-30 minutes, or until the thickest part flakes easily.
I can do that! On my grill!
My wife made a little fish boat out of aluminum foil and voila, we grilled salmon!
Lemon pepper seasoning to taste, lemon juice to taste, as much butter as you want! Grill at 350 for 20-30 minutes, or until the thickest part flakes easily.
It’s that simple. And wouldn’t you know, my kids devoured this! We’ll be grilling our salmon in the future.
