Perfect Brownies

My son, Christian, LOVES these brownies! They are soft, warm, chewy and chocolaty. He makes these all the time. Add a little Heavenly Chocolate Sauce and maybe some vanilla ice cream and you are in sweet, sweet heaven. You have to give these a try. Who needs a box? These are so simple to make and so very good! They are Perfect Brownies because they are perfect every time.

Perfect Brownies

Perfect Brownies

½ cup cocoa
2 cups sugar
1 1/3 cup flour
½ tsp. salt
2 sticks butter
2 tsp. vanilla
4 large eggs

Line a 12″ Dutch oven with parchment paper. It gives the brownies a pretty scalloped edge and makes cleanup a breeze.

In a large bowl mix butter, eggs, sugar and vanilla. (Easy tip: Melt the butter and add the sugar, eggs and vanilla and stir well) beat well. Add dry ingredients and stir to mix. Pour into Dutch oven and bake at 350° (16 coals on top and 8 coals on the bottom) for 35 to 40 minutes. Check with a tooth pick and make sure it comes out clean. Serve with ice cream and fudge sauce (see recipe).

Heavenly Chocolate Sauce

Note: Reduce to 3 eggs for chewier brownies.
