This is such an easy and delicious side dish for any outdoor meal. It is so easy to do in a cast iron fry pan on your camp stove. I love the way fresh green beans cook up, they are so good!
Steamed Green Beans
4 – 5 slices thick bacon, diced and cooked
1 cup onion, chopped
2 – 3 tsp. red pepper, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 lb. fresh green beans, trimmed and snapped
1 cup chicken broth
salt and pepper to taste
Cook bacon until done, add onion and garlic and sauté until done, about 5-minutes. Add green beans and stir to mix well. cook for a couple of minutes and add chicken broth. Partially cover but allow steam to escape, cooking on medium for 20 – 25 minutes until done. Salt and pepper to taste and serve.
