Tin Foil Sacks

Since I was a new Cub Scout I have made tin foil dinners.  Most of the time they turned out dry and a little lacking.  That all changed when I attended Scoutmaster Training and learned how to make a tin foil sack.  It took the old tin foil dinner to a whole new level.  They are easy to make and with a little practice you will become a tin foil pro!  Once you have the bag made the options for cooking outdoors have now been greatly expanded!

Start with a piece of heavy duty aluminum foil about 12 – 14″ long, depending on the size of bag you wish to make.  Fold the foil in half lengthwise.  Next, fold the top half back towards the center but leaving a 1″ pleat.  Turn the foil over and repeat on the other side

Next, fold the ends on the sack over three times to seal the edges and make a 90-degree corner at the bottom.  Complete on both sides.

Now just stand your sack up, spread out the bottom pleat and you are ready to fill it with your favorite ingredients.  You are only limited by your imagination!
