This is such a simple bread to make, and it is fantastic with soups and stews. Thanks to my friend Joy for sharing. It is quick and easy and a wonderful addition to your next backyard meal! This will quickly become a family "go to" bread.

  • 3 c flour
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ½ T yeast
  • 1 T sugar
  • ¼ c olive oil
  • 1 c warm water
  • ½ c warm milk
  • 1 - 2 c Cheddar cheese, grated
  • Butter
  • Lawry's Garlic Salt (course ground with parsley)
Instructions
  1. Mix flour, salt, yeast and sugar. Make a well in the middle. In a separate container mix the oil, milk and water. Pour the warm liquid into the flour mixture and knead until you have a soft dough. cover and let rise for 20 minutes.
  2. Spray a 12" Dutch oven with cooking spray. Divide the dough in half. flatten one half with your hands (this is very soft) and place in the bottom of the oven. sprinkle the cheese over the top. Flatten the second half and place on top. Bake at 350 for 30 - 40 minutes until golden brown. Brush with butter and sprinkle with garlic.
